The Howden Clough Project Ltd is the first church run outreach mission for families providing a soft play area and café. It is a new way of being Church, part of the Fresh Expressions movement and a project of Howden Clough Methodist Church, near Birstall. The Wesley Playhouse was formed to spearhead this outreach to offer a New way of being Church in a more relevant way in the 21st Century.
The Wesley Playhouse is open on the following days and times:
10.00am until 4.00pm Monday
CLOSED TUESDAYS (for maintenance work)
10.00am until 4.00pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
CLOSED SATURDAY - Except for pre-booked parties
CLOSED SUNDAYS
Traditional Methodist Services led by local preachers take place from 10.30am on the 4th Sunday of the month ONLY.
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OPEN ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAYS
We hold "Playhouse Praise" on the 2nd Sunday of the Month from 4pm:
An exciting informal time of crafts, songs and Bible stories together with a time to play in the Ark for all the family to enjoy.
ADMISSION PRICES:
£3.00 per child for 2 hours play
£2.00 for children who are crawling
FREE for children under 12 months
FREE ADMISSION FOR ADULTS!
Please note we do not have facilities for debit or credit cards so payment can ONLY be by cash or cheques, thank you.
So why not come to our Ark Café and relax, chat, meet up with friends with a drink and homemade cake.
We provides a safe, friendly place for children from 0 to 11 to play in a themed soft play area, a café for adults and children to enjoy healthy, fair-trade food and drinks whilst chilling out.
We also provide a venue for Christenings, Weddings, children's birthday parties or family celebrations, come and see us, we will try and provide all you need.
We provide a venue for Church youth groups to come and use "The Wesley Playhouse" as part of their church life or as a special treat for your church clubs.

How it works?
On Thursdays we will meet to prepare together some lunch. If you can cook, you can show us how and if you want to learn some new recipes and kitchen skills you just come along and help. While it cooks the TALENT EXCHANGE happens young and old learning from each other the list of skills is endless:... whatever you want to know, whatever you are good at.
